C’est parti, j’embarque... pars le char biloute.

An epic journey has started... today April’s 1st – Is being April’s Fools Day a good or a disastrous oracle? I do wonder... – midnight, I embark on an adventure to go down explore the nitty gritty reality of learning GIS as a none-expert.  Here I am, a French Canadian young archaeologist & Heritage project assistant (no programmer nor geographer, nor engineer, simply a very good understanding of computers and graphic design background, basically I’m in a fair amount of trouble) who can barely keep her day diary up to date, will keep tracks in this blog of my hair pulling, mind boggling struggles – and let’s hope breakthroughs - as I tame this complex but incredible wonder that is the GIS technology. In a mixture of coloured French Canadian expressions & gobbledy googly gook GIS vocabulary, with let’s hope a few witty remarks, I shall bring you on a path of discovery of GIScience and its uses for community-based project and hopefully perhaps invite you to do the same.

P.S. GI what?

Dry but useful note

This Blog forms part of my internship as GIS analyst with Spatial Consultants, a world-renowned Cumbria-based firm specialising in GIS technology. Have a look at their website http://www.spatialconsultants.com/.
